    Hi guys

    I got the 16F2 with the 3 antenna 1103. What is the cheapest modem/router that I could get? Raw transfer speed is not really that important... Budget is most important, stability second. Thanks in advance for your inputs.

    So,what is your budget and how good is your service?

    The next version of the WiFi standard will be 802.11ac that's set to take off in Q3 2012.It's a 5ghz band only standard.

    As for the present,if you have other devices that will connect to the router simultaneously,like smart phones and other notebooks at the location, then you should be looking at 300Mbps simultaneous duel-band.

    I was using a rater expensive Netgear WNDR4500 that went bellyup recently that caused me to revert to my old 300Mbps Netgear AV37v2.

    Truthfully,I can't see any real difference most of the time between the 450Mbps WNDR4500 and the 300Mbps AV37v2.

    The speedtest in my signature can be achieved with the 1103(3x3) and either router.

    The NETGEAR N600 Wireless Dual Band Router WNDR3400 is about $70.

    Do you need cheaper?

    @Striker

    I have DSL. I'm in Brazil.

    @Whatsthepoint

    I will see if I can get the Netgear N600 around here. As I stated, raw throughput is not really that important. What I am looking for is a good combination of price and reliability (signal strength and stability). And yes, I plan to have 4-5 devices connected at times, plus my desktop.

    Thank you both for your thoughts.
