    Why isn't there a GT70-2OC owner's lounge?

The one currently on top of my list is MSI GT70-2OC-059, which comes with a 770m. It is pretty enough for me, but I guess everyone else here is a big fan of 780m? Is there any difference between 2OC and 2OD in terms of design, chassis, cooling, etc? Has anyone ordered a 2OC yet? Anyone currently using it?

I'd like to see a GT60-2OC lounge. Could a combined owner's lounge be created for the GT70-2OC and GT60-2OC? Both have the 770m.

I was wondering the same thing. I ordered one of these a few days ago, just waiting for it to get here!

Glad to hear someone has ordered one. Is it a stock unit or modified?

Count me in! Ordered GT60-20C last week. Just waiting for it to get here. Although, I think, someone has to start the thread, or else, there is the GT60/GT70 owners lounge...... Thread title could be, "the official GT60/GT70 20C owners lounge" , but I don't have the guts to compete with xMAR and striker...... just sayin...

Looks you nearly have a lounge here. ;)

Not really. They're based on the same design/platform, so the only differences I know of are the specs.

It's slightly modified, upgraded to 72% NTSC matte screen, Samsung 840 SSD, N 6300 Wireless Card, Windows 7.

    EDIT: GT70-2OC

The 2OD comes with the super raid adapter while the 2OC doesn't, I believe. And you can't buy those from MSI either.

Hey juliant, how is the battery life on GT60-20D with minimal use? I mean like some word processing, chrome, youtube, some video clips? Some users over at the GT60-20D owners lounge reported over 4+ hrs of similar use. Also, some external reviews stated 5+...... I'm just finding it hard to believe on such a high performance notebook. The last laptop I had ( Asus G50V ), can barely hold for 40 mins without plugging in. But then again, optimus was not implemented at that time.

p.s : would be awesome to have a combined GT60/70 20C owners lounge. Could keep it all in one place.....

I just ordered a GT70-2OC-059 from gentechpc, with 90% glossy screen, samsung 840 ssd and win7. So it's almost the same with yours.

sadly ... no....... it's still in production from my reseller. But it's still in their given time frame for production, so I can't just bother them lol. Anyway, should ship within a few days... oh man....the weekend is here...another two days of waiting.. damn...

When is yours arriving philfromhell? I ordered a regular SSD too for OS. also, let us know how the glossy screen is on Gt70, never seen one before here on the forums. I like glossy too. LOL

I'll post some benchmarks, games benches, some pics if you guys want when it arrives. tell me a game, I'll get the frame rates for you guys.

To tell you the truth aban714 I have not got the system yet. It should arrive at my door on the 18th. But I think you should get the 4+ hours on this system while doing only daily tasks without any kind of 3D stuff...

I am on my m18xR2 all day on the battery (switched to the iGPU, as everyone knows that it has no optimus, it is manual switch between GPU's) and I think it is easily passing 4-5 hours with brightness at level '6'. So yeah, I believe that it will pass the 4 hours mark without no issues. It's known that optimus is very reliable and will keep the GTX GPU on standby without any issues.

That is nice. You may want to add some links to the official site of msi, drivers etc. and if you own this system, some pictures won't hurt. I know it looks the same as the other system, but will make it look more detailed and people love to see an entire feedback to make up their mind on what they need to buy...

Thats good to hear. oh, and that's a killer notebook! LOL! but, still, your alienware would beat it handily. And just asking, I intend to replace my ODD with a SSD or HDD. is it sata2 or sata3? If sata3, im going SSD, if sata2, HDD its then.

Awesome, I'm contributing to that thread.

I just finished payment yesterday, so there would be a bunch of days before I get it. Yes I would post pics of my screen when I receive my laptop.

Very fine score. 5057 without overclocking is not low, I would not worry about that. Anyway, what you bought is a laptop, you may use it for gaming or as a workstation, but in no way should it be a benchmark machine.

Agreed. Besides, the GTX 770M has enough power to play through all modern games, most maxed, some ultra/high settings. I bought mine for less than $1500, and for that price, the MSi GT60/70 is a solid choice. Not to mention, some other bonuses which you get. Steelseries multi color kerboard, dynaudio, aluminum finish... as for me, I'm all impressed....
