I really like this laptop MSI 1719/GX700, especially because it is slim. And I found this cheap model on ZZF (I guess it is not THAT cheap compared to deals like Gateway6860FX)
I configured a similar machine on xoticpc and powernotebooks, the price all come out to be 200 something more expensive.
Is the site good?

That is not cheap and remember that the Gateway has a 8800 while this one has only a 8600.

Whoa, something on the specifications page for that laptop seems fishy.... 3.5 hours on a 6 cell battery?? I can barely get 1.5 hrs on my GX-600's 6-cell!
-
Because they make crappy notebooks. My GX600 is on it's 2nd RMA.
-
It is like any other mauafactures, some people will get defective ones, most others will not have any problems. I have had my GX600 for a few months now and have ZERO problems with it and am very happy with it. God Bless

shoelace_510 8700M GT inside... ^-^;
Yeah, I HIGHLY doubt that you will get 3.5 hrs. out of a six cell... out of a nine cell maybe, but not six. Just my $0.02...

As a repair engineer of MSI Europe i have to say that the GX700 is crap, it has the same chassis as an L735/745, the only thing it changes its his specs. Better graphic card..etc! But the laptop itself sucks. Give the GX600 a try.
@JDELUNA 90% of the GX600's we get on RMA is a problem with Not showing display. A simple clearing cmos will do the trick. So you know if you ever get no display, just open the back case, and remove the battery for a moments! And presto -
Its likely so cheap because they want to clear out stock of Santa Rosa notebooks in anticipation od Montevina's release in two weeks. Even so, its only about $200 less than a similarly specced Asus M70S...
And for the record, I got my GX600 around the same time as Spoonie (been 6 or 7 months now) and haven't yet had a problem with it.
Why is this MSI so cheap?
