So figured I'd give my Msi a good cleaning since it seemed to be running a little hot, fan was on all the time but never over heated. So I cleaned the CPU and gpu, added articles silver 5. Now when I turn the thing on I only get a white screen. Works fine on hdmi but it's not picking up the factory monitor, tried unplugged and plugging monitor, reapplying paste twice, and still no luck

Also didn't seem to help my heating as the fans still running on idle, all cores going around the, 44-48, expect core 2 which jumps down to 36 and back up. This is on a i7 2670q

Any help for with issue would be great

It could be a case of static discharge messing something up when you repasted. Did you remove the battery when repasting? Nothing is wrong with your CPU so you're still getting display working when connected to HDMI. Hmm, weird.

You could check the seating for the cable.

Also remember Arctic silver 5 is capacitive so can cause issues itself.

Yes I removed the battery and I did remove the cable, the cable is on the front and no where near the gpu of CPU so I don't even know how thst would be the issue, but I gave it a try anyways
