So I've recently decided to purchase the MSI GS60, but now the question is, which retailer do I make my purchase from?

People seem to have great things to say about Xotic and Gentech but they are both located in the west and the time it would take me to get my laptop seems to be fairly high.

I can order from Newegg and they usually deliver within a day or two as they are located close by and I haven't had too much problems ordering from them in the past.

Just wondering if you guys could give some recommendations and reason for choosing a particular retailer and if anyone's had issues with particular retailers.

    Thanks.

Newegg usually gets it out the door quick since they only sell stock computers. If you order one of those from us we can ship it out quickly too. Its the customized models which take longer. We're actually not on the West coast, but mid-west in Nebraska. Where are you shipping to?

I like Newegg, and over the years, I have done a lot of business with them..... but for an item such as a notebook, I definitely prefer purchasing from a reseller. Purchasing from an authorized MSI reseller has it's advantages over e-tailer's, such as Newegg. Newegg is simply product warehousing agent. You order, they ship, boxed 'as-is', un-opened, just as the manufacturer delivered to them. Furthermore, e-tailers generally have very limited return or exchange policies. Once these expire, you are left to deal directly with the manufacturer, to resolve any disputes, issues, or warranty claims. On the overhand, when purchasing from a 'reseller', there is a more personalized touch to your entire transaction. The resellers provide assurances, inspection, and levels of customization, that you will not be afforded with e-tailers..... and since they have staff technicians, they can even assist you with repairs or when dealing with the manufacturer.

Which reseller would I choose? GenTech PC of course! They have been my reseller of choice for years now, I have purchased numerous notebooks from them, they have always met my levels of expectation, service and shipping has always been top-notch, and Ken has always gone the extra mile to insure my satisfaction..... so much so, I have come to know him, and we are now good friends. The GenTech experience has definitely been one of satisfaction..... and with the personal touch!

    :)

    Thanks for your responses.

I live in NY so worried about the long distance the laptop needs to travel.

Regardless of where you buy it from, consider most were made over seas anyway so they've already traveled a long way. Most companies also fully insure computers against any damage, double check on that though.

Yeah, Unless you absolutely need your computer the next day, which would cost a hefty price anyways, there is no reason to be patient and buy from the best place you can get your machine from :)

Most resellers here are great, and offer great support. I personally buy from GentechPC but you will be hard-pressed not to love the great support on the forums from MSI resellers :)

If you want the computer right away I would go with Newegg or Amazon. Want some customization's and willing to wait? Xoticpc is good for that. They also allow you to upgrade your packaging for better protection while shipping.

Most the resellers that frequently post here are all good.
My personal choice is GenTech PC too!
