Or the new GX660, the lower res screen will give you better FPS for gaming.
    Both are good options.

The lower resolution screen also lowers your resolution.

We could all just play on a 600x800 screen, and say we have the best gaming computer.

    Really!
The lower res screen has lower res??? ;)
I'm sure we all know that I'm saying you will get higher FPS on it without manually lowering res.
Games always look best when played at a screens native res, games just looks crisper and sharper then when you lower it manually.

Yeah I was wondering that too.
4GB's is plenty for gaming, anything over that is just extra money that you don't need to spend.
Having more than 4GB's of RAM will have no impact on gaming performance.

The only one i can think of isnt an MSI but the Asus G73. It has 8gb ddr3 (bestbuy model i think), i7, 5870...all which meets your requirements.

How can you play 10 games at the same time?
Your post is starting to make less sense as it goes.
You can load 10 games on any laptop and play them but at the same time, I don't think so.

Not sure exactly what I meant to say lol but that does sound stupid.

I think I meant to say that it lowers the quality of the picture, or your field of view. Not quite sure..

I just don't see the point of having high end hardware only to be gimped by a tiny resolution.

Ok i dont mean to start a new post,, but i dont want the two to get mixed up this is a different question all together,,, I thought the GX660 was the better model than the GT660... one has the GTX 285m and the other has the 5870...... but the one with the weaker gpu is higher priced?
I guess the GT660 has the bigger screen, more ram and a better CPU at stock.... soo is the GT660 better than the GX660 why its more expensive?

But really, I don't give a strudel about resolution during gaming. I've played vidya games on a tiny CRT monitor at 1024x768 for years without any issue.

Where the low resolution really becomes incapacitating is during regular usage: work, school and web browsing. I'm a heavy Photoshop user and I'll tell you, when you're used to working at a comfortable 1920x1080, you don't settle for anything less, especially when the alternative has 50% less pixels.

Otherwise, the new Gx660 notebooks look pretty good in terms of specs, but the casings are way too glossy and the light show looks tacky. Why can't manufacturers go the way of the HP Envy and create a functional, understated design that's pleasing to the eyes instead of being a perpetual eyerape with 9000 blue LEDs that instantly burn through your cornea and leave you blinded and dismayed?

I forgot where I was going with this but I'm hitting "submit reply" anyway. EAT THIS NBR

GX740. Great size, non-bulky, satisfies all your performance requirements. Looks quite nice without being TOO intrusive as well.

GTX285M is more expensive than Mobility 5870, that's why GT660 is a bit more expensive than GX660.
