    Hi guys,

Would like to get your advice on where you would rather get your laptops. Online or local?
I have been looking at the GE63vr raider for awhile now. I have been taking advices from Donald from HIDevolution and he has beem extremely helpful with all my questions no matter how small they are. Something i would not be able to get from my local stores.

My local stores wont be what i would say helpful people but would really want to sell me their product no considering my needs.
Whereas Somewhere like HIDevolution would be always there to attend to my questions and doubts.

Problem now is that im worried about the after service.
If i got my laptop locally and had any problems, i will be able to get back to their shop and ask for the help rectified.
But online stores, i will have to go through emails and most of the issues will have to be solved by me through instructions from them. Im quite dump with computers so most instructions will take time for me to do them.
And also if there is a need to have things send back, Like maybe minor issues - dead pixels, there would be shipping involved. Shipping from my area out would easily cost $150usd which is quite a lot if its 2 way it will double.
Thou there hasnt been much rma from what i read on its thread. Only 1/2?

So would like for your advices on which would be the more appropriate course for me to take.

If you can wait for the shipping time the go with Gentech, Xotic, Hidevolution or similar. I have unique time restrains so I bought form Newegg, I also like the zero percent financing, and I ran it hard to try to get any issues to pop up so I could send it back within the return period. Newegg sent a used one to my friend so watch out, they will pull some BS.

I almost always recommend online through resellers (as you can see, I bought from GentechPC) precisely due to customer support. We also have the added benefit of having company representatives here that have helped all users regardless of who you bought from, because in the end we are all MSI owners.

Are you USA based or elsewhere? Feel free to contact resellers for any specific question for them. Also you have this forum to help with anything we can. We have owner's threads for most models in general.

I wouldn't buy MSI to begin with but if you are asking for a retailer, HIDevolution is a fantastic place to shop from.

Im from south east asia. Thats why after sale shipping would be something im worried about if something were to really happen to my laptop.

I know the people here are really helpful. But im just worried there would be problems i wont be able to solve even with your instructions. Im not very smart with handling computers

Where are you located? Something you may want to double check with your local MSI office in case of warranty issues, because not every region provides international warranty such as Australia & Brazila and there could be others too. Otherwise, if you bought a system from the US and you may have to ship it back to the US for warranty service instead.

If they are the distributor then they may only provide warranty to units sold through them.
But double check with them directly to get a confirmation.

I was also happy with my service from Donald at HIDevolution. I have purchased from Pro-Star in the past (P151 clevo 5 years ago), but later learned I was undersold on hardware to perform the video editing needed with Sony Vegas. Hopefully my new (purchased this evening) GE63 VR 7RF will allow me to edit my Youtube videos quickly and efficiently. I will follow up with Donald to tell him how it works good or bad. I was initially going to go all out and get a Clevo 870 (Desktop Hardware) maxed out, but just recently decided I wanted to travel light in Thailand this winter! Check my Youtube channel if you want to see what i'm all about. http://youtube.com/irnieracing

Go for HIDevolution you won't regret it. I will always buy my laptops from them especially when Donald@HIDevolution will be there. :)

If shipping is an issue try to find something local.

Give hidevolution a chance to explain to you how their warranty service would work from Singapore first. I bought an EVOC from them and have needed to use their service and it's been great so far. I'm in the US though and did buy a 2 year warranty package from them.

After reading lots of reviews on HIDevolution, i think hes the place to get it from. Just waiting for the time to pull the trigger as might wanna wait for coffee lake.
But HIDevolution is a place i would trust for my upcoming laptop
and from looking at local resellers and warranty claiming, i feel the experience and service overall has been really exceptional.
Just need to pull the trigger now

Appreciate everyones thoughts and answers in this question :D

    HIDevolution definitely.......because...

    - Better quality control and higher standards IMHO

    - The best thermal paste application method to ensure you get a laptop that doesn't overheat

    - proper stress testing of the machine to ensure it works perfect when it reaches to you, no surprises

    - More customization with regards to the hardware you can configure your system with

    - For those who opt for the laptops with desktop class CPUs, they are one of the very few that offer in house CPU Delidding which brings down the temps by up to 20C

    - Better customer service and after sales support

    - Awesome contacts with big name companies like MSI for example, when I had an issue with my laptop when GSYNC wasn't working, I reached out to MSI and had bad service, they were telling me my screen was NOT a GSYNC Screen and that they never advertised it to be a GSYNC screen on their site despite me showing them links to every review saying that it IS GSYNC. Then I reached out to HIDevolution and thanks to their awesome contacts with the seniors at MSI, got me sorted

Still indecisive towards what i want, trying to accommodate budget might not be getting soon. Maybe the start of the next year.

@Phoenix Ive read all your reviews towards HIDevolution. I am expierencing those as i am getting advices and recommendations from them. So far through emailing with him i have already been really impressed. The background knowledge, the service, the attitude, all these cant even be compared to my local resellers here. Imagine their pre sale service isnt that good already, i cant image any after sales service i will be getting from them.

But from other forum members here, when encountered with issues, the after sales service seems to be going really well. And with addition to other members support i feel more at eased with getting it.

This trend is a godsent, with black friday coming up, I was thinking of replacing my 3yr old Asus G750 with a MSI GT73 or 75VR or Clevo laptop.

Was considering GentechPC or HIDevolution and it's good to hear so many positive things about HIDevolution from forum members. @Phoenix Your reviews of the MSI GT73VR really made me a believer to switch to MSI from ASUS.

@Dovan1405 Looking forward to hearing your experience once you pull the trigger!

Piece of advice, Carefully read info with regards to warranty conditions of the brand of laptop you would be purchasing and also warranty conditions of the reseller, also consider which country you're hailing from since warranties are different even for MSI, they say it is "global" but the rules don't apply globally.

    HIDevolution or GenTechPC

They are who my final choice came down to. Went with HIDevolution, but GenTechPC is a great company as well. I was actually all set to order from GenTech and then came across HID's website. What ended up pushing me to HID is that they offer screen calibration and their option for having them pick you out a laptop with minimal back light bleed. I have owned way too many laptops in the past with TN panels that had horrendous back light bleed.
