Hey guys... Is there any information as to the USA release of this laptop???? I have tried every vendor and MSI Corporate and they have gone from Begin Feb - to Mid Feb - to now call back in March... Does anyone have the inside track?
Thank you all very much!

Well according to frostycomputers website the GT725 is in stock now!

MSI site has them too, but they're $100 more?!

Do you know if the OS is 64 or 32? I don't think it specifies on Frosty's site. Anyone ordered from them before?
-
32bit, but supposedly you can:
get a 64b install disk and install and then
a) use the key on the nb or wherever
b) failing (a) install w/o then try to enter it into the control panel or wherever it is on vista
or
c) call M$ and do it "manually"...
According to TRF_Inferno and others the MSI overclock utils work fine under 64b. -
I've e-mailed Justin (XoticPC) just now to see when's the ETA for them.
-
I already e-mailed them this morning, and this is the response i got:
"Right now the ETA for the MSI GT725 is Late February to Early March. We are accepting pre-orders for this notebook if you'd like to place a pre-order online."

Bummer ....I'll wait it out then. I'm pretty sure in 2 weeks, these will be available on Egghead and Amazon.

Will the prices be cheaper when they hit Newegg?

MSI has stated to us the OS is 32-Bit. The have just hit MSI (074's) and shipments will start end of this week/first of next week.
075's should be late next week.

Thanks for the update Justin.

Should write that Ars Technica guy and have him ask MSI what the GT725 retail price will be... as they apparently forgot to clue in MSI US wrt GT627 pricing...
-
Appears several vendors now have this available....anybody from US taken the plunge yet?
I would have since I sold a desktop on Ebay but Paypal is holding my funds for another week so I gotta wait for that to clear up before I can order this from XoticPC. -
-
Other than that I think its as someone said...sell you a car with a V8 engine just to find out that they only install 6 spark plugs. -

Which one did you order? Did you customize it??

^ That's what I'm getting too ...once my Paypal funds clear up. Already have my XBox360+120" screen (PJ guy here) for hardcore gaming so I'm not really concerned with how high framerates the 725 can pump out
but I'll definitely be playing Diablo 3 on this once it comes out.

Okay, I'm in!!
Just completed my order thru XoticPC using the cash discount (E-Check Paypal). I opted for the XoticPC warranty as I'd rather deal with them directly instead of MSI for warranty repairs.
I'll post my impressions/pics upon delivery.
When will MSI GT725 be released in USA
