Hey guys... Is there any information as to the USA release of this laptop???? I have tried every vendor and MSI Corporate and they have gone from Begin Feb - to Mid Feb - to now call back in March... Does anyone have the inside track?

    Thank you all very much!

Do you know if the OS is 64 or 32? I don't think it specifies on Frosty's site. Anyone ordered from them before?

    32bit, but supposedly you can:
get a 64b install disk and install and then
    a) use the key on the nb or wherever
    b) failing (a) install w/o then try to enter it into the control panel or wherever it is on vista

    or

    c) call M$ and do it "manually"...

According to TRF_Inferno and others the MSI overclock utils work fine under 64b.

I already e-mailed them this morning, and this is the response i got:
"Right now the ETA for the MSI GT725 is Late February to Early March. We are accepting pre-orders for this notebook if you'd like to place a pre-order online."

Bummer ....I'll wait it out then. I'm pretty sure in 2 weeks, these will be available on Egghead and Amazon.

MSI has stated to us the OS is 32-Bit. The have just hit MSI (074's) and shipments will start end of this week/first of next week. :) 075's should be late next week.

Appears several vendors now have this available....anybody from US taken the plunge yet?

I would have since I sold a desktop on Ebay but Paypal is holding my funds for another week so I gotta wait for that to clear up before I can order this from XoticPC.

Why would they purposely gimp a machine with 4gbRAM by sending it out with Vista 32? If it has to do with compatibilty issues with 64 then

Other than that I think its as someone said...sell you a car with a V8 engine just to find out that they only install 6 spark plugs.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same.. wondering if the 64 bit drivers are funky for something.

Looks like xoticpc has them. I think Frosty computers may also have them. Haven't checked the others yet.

^ That's what I'm getting too ...once my Paypal funds clear up. Already have my XBox360+120" screen (PJ guy here) for hardcore gaming so I'm not really concerned with how high framerates the 725 can pump out :p but I'll definitely be playing Diablo 3 on this once it comes out.

    Okay, I'm in!!

Just completed my order thru XoticPC using the cash discount (E-Check Paypal). I opted for the XoticPC warranty as I'd rather deal with them directly instead of MSI for warranty repairs.

I'll post my impressions/pics upon delivery.
