Same specs overall ,they've only added mechanical keyboard, 120hz 3ms vs current 5ms,soft touch palm rest area . Is that all that differentiates it from GT73?
Is it an upgrade or a replacement for 73 series? Will it cost more or same? Is it worth getting Gt73 right now???
Any thoughts?

It should cost the same as a GT73VR, the main differences will be in build quality (more metal, less plastic on palm rests) and the mechanical keyboard with per-key RGB backlit.

There is one less M.2 slot form what I have read, so there may be some other internal differences that will pop up by the time it's available. In my opinion they are close enough that having both lines seems silly but who knows?

I think it's because they got burned by Nvidia when G-sync first released and they listed some laptops as having G-sync but Nvidia lagged on getting the displays MSI used through the "approval" process, and so those laptops never got G-sync certification.
Clevo and Asus got "burned" by this as well...
Sales outlets may include it in their product listing once they verify the received units have G-sync listed on the box.
So now, if ya get it, you get it, if you don't, you don'tBeemo likes this. -

TN or IPS-like panels?
-
The 3ms refresh most certainly means it's TN, unless MSI has paid a king's ransom for some cutting edge AHVA or IPS display.
If it's the latter yeah the GT75VR will be crazy expensive.
But I'd bet on it just being an improved version of the current GT73VR's TN panel, until we hear otherwise.Beemo likes this. -
What's with the trade off with TN this time around? The last couple years, it was all about the IPS type. Is it the response time, or have TN panels improved that much?

I think they either did that to use optane or cut down on unpopular storage options, most M.2 is now pcie even on very cheap laptops such as the Lenovo Y520.
I know @Phoenix would be pissed not able to use his M.2 sata SSD lolDukeCLR and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -

Taking a look at the price of EUR 4.358,32...damn! I don't think anyone wants to buy that and people will just stick with a much cheaper GT73VR instead.
MSI thinks that they can put an HDR (though HDR is pretty much useless since not so many games supports it right now), a 3ms screen and overly ramping up the price is just ridiculous.Last edited: Jul 26, 2017 -

And, from those listings it looks like August 31, 2017 is release day, at least for Germany. -

Doesn't Germany have some kind of tax, tariff or other bump in the price built in? I recall hearing that before about other laptops...DukeCLR, ThePerfectStorm, Spartan@HIDevolution and 1 other person like this.
