I love my 3K IPS panel in this notebook so much I am leaning towards upgrading the GPU just so I can keep it :)

That I could upgrade a 2 year old laptop with a graphics card that's 3 generations newer.

From my old 16F3 it was hard to choose between the speakers or the keyboard, both were excellent.

What I liked about the upgradability is that I was quite happy with my laptop. Haswell didn't seem to offer that much over an Ivy Bridge, and everything else was fine (added SSD, upgraded WiFi, added RAM). The ability to put a 970m in it and upgraded to a 3920XM extended the life of this laptop by quite a bit. Half the cost of a new GS60 and I have a laptop that feels as good as new and plays the games I want. All while not voiding MSI's warranty on everything else.

What's there not to like about MSI? I think they make some of the best laptops on the planet.

Assuming I can get a few things worked out, I am going to do the exact same thing. :)

I think one thing that really stood out on my first GT60 was the speakers as I would play without headphones often since they sounded so nicely and were actually decently loud. That was one thing I had never experienced in notebooks prior to the GT60 - good audio

I just ordered my second MSI laptop. The first was a GT60 One with the gtx680m. I would definitely say the longevity is what will always keep me coming back. The sound is amazing and the keyboard is great with the steel series. I can't wait to get my GT72 dragon edition 695 next week.

I recently purchased a GT72 dominator (non pro) and I love everything about it. Best laptop I've ever purchased. I thought using a 17.3" laptop was off putting, but I have no qualms about it after using it. Also, the keyboards are super legit. :D

Three years on my GT780 is still going strong having been lugged around the world on so many different oil rigs, platforms, boats, onshore facilities and hotels etc and has been upgraded several times = superb build quality.

Alot of the guys offshore can't believe I carry the weight around everywhere, but I got used to it quickly and now wouldn't consider travelling without a 17" gaming laptop with me at all times, I never expected it to last as long as it has either, the best part about it is actually how good condition it's in, hardly any scratches on it at all.

GS70 Pro: Coming from a Dell 6500, I like thin size and lite weight. Easiest to carry 17 I've ever owned.

They will be, the MSI solution is a bit more "native" so does not have the issues.

I was looking into the Dell version because I have 2 R9 290x's in my PC that well, I don't really need two of so I was considering the docking system, but there were sooo many complaints about the dell version that I scrapped the idea. If i had known there was an MSI version, I would have most likely gone that route. One issue was the small screen. I like gaming on a 17 inch. Well either way, I am dying to see the results of a titan x docked, so please post when you get them.

Have mine for almost 2 years now. I've only upgraded (exchanged caddy) the HDD and never had a blue screen on it. I use it daily at work and play many games on it (during night) :)

When a product is well-taken care of and maintained they will usually last a very long time.

Dang! I am only pushing 11,568 with my R9 290x CF... Wow. That's impressive. There is no longer a performance gap between laptops and Desktops... Though portability is still an issue.

Maybe the speakers, probably the keyboard.

But literally everything is an improvement from my GT70, so it's hard to choose.

Considering that the keyboard and speakers on the gt70 are good that shows how good the gt72 is.

GT72 has a lot of improvement over GT70, but if you want more GT80 is the way to go.
