Hi,
I'm willing to buy a MSI S260, but since the standard configurations don't accord to my needs I'm thinking about building my own MS-1012.
After spending evenings on Google I still have some questions.
1. Is the MS-1012 standard equiped with an DVD/CDRW combo driver or do I need to buy one myself?
2. Am I correct that I need to buy the keyboard seperate from the laptop?
3. Which battery comes shipped? the 4-cell or the 8-cell? And is there an adapter with it?
I'm thinking about the MS-1012W-013
Thanks!

I’m planning to get MS-1013(black) - http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=NB-13-DVB
I can get almost everything I need for $1257.16
1. It comes with DVD/CD-R
2. The laptop itself comes with a keyboard, you can buy external if you want…=)
3. It should come with 8-cell battery. with adapter (i think...).
You will need to buy RAM, CPU, HD separately.
“but since the standard configurations don't accord to my needs” what kind of specs do you want?
If you are in US, you should have no problem getting full power customized 1013 -
Well I'm from the Netherlands and all the S260's here come with an Intel Celeron 350 or an Intel Mobile 730. I want to have an Intel Mobile 760.
Second of all the standard configuration here has 2x256MB RAM which makes it hard to upgrade, or you can throw away 2 SO-DIMM's.
That are my reasons why I'm planning to build my own MS-1012. -

That's my problem, specs are hard to find and don't comply with each other. I ordered my 1012 today and I hope it comes with a DVD/CD drive, or else I have to order a white optical drive myself.

awenger,
it should come with at least the combo drive, unless the reseller is stripping out parts, MSI doesn't ship without the drive.
What does the 1012 come equiped with?
