I have not had a Wind yet. I do hope the future generation of Wind will have all the features it has now plus,
1. eSATA port
2. N Wi-Fi
3. Turnable screen (like some tablet PC) with auto sensing (like the iTouch or Wii game pad) and a software to display all e-book formats so that I can lie down and all these e-Books, i.e. reader
4. Embedded GPS
5. Phone support
6. HDMI output
What do you think/anticipate features of a future all in one Wind II mini-notebook?
-
I expect:
1.dual core atom processor
2. smaller size
3. option for SSD hard drive
4.more custom options
5. Warranty not voided by changing ram
6.more expensive given the popularity of the first generation of Wind
I doubt it will have hmdi or esata and a rotating screen. It will probably have N-grade wireless. -
shoelace_510 8700M GT inside... ^-^;
I expect that it will step up with:
1.N Wireless
2.More HD options
3.An 8.9" USA version
4.Pre-installed boot camp b/w Linux and XP
5.Hopefully a better grasp on promising shipping dates. LOL -
This thread really needs to wait until AFTER the first generation Wind actually starts shipping.
-
Maybe an actual overclocking feature this time. I'm really really disappointed with the Wind right now.
-
Dual core Atom and a digital video out (HDMI or even DVI).

Where? China has it in shops in June according to someone reported in China at other forums, Malaysia, Philipines, Singapore and UK have them now. USA has the pre-orders on some websites probably they are now in ship containers and probably in the USA now and waiting for the depatch in California. Hopefully these were not marketing techniques.
I don't see that "The date" has any to do with our antipation for a future Wind II which in future that will make our perfect mini-notebook. -
wind one isnt even out yet and ur talkn bout 2 lol. id like dual core or dual core 2 in these small things.
-
To direct these mini-notebook manufacturer to head for the propr direction of what we need. LOL!
-
Of what you want, perhaps. I'm pretty sure not every person buying netbooks want eSata and HDMI ports.
Anything to cut down cost is good enough for me. -

1. Dual Core processor based on the successor to Atom.
2. Smaller size (EEE 901 size)
3. N wireless
4. Finger print reader
5. usb 3.0 -
eSATA and HDMI ports will only cost $20 each maximum.
I was thinking if you have eSATA and HDMI, you can expand your use of Wind to say; presentations, on the road use (with GPS), remote dialing (with mobile card) watching movies, on the bed reading (with the rotating screen and gyro sensor), ...
Like a car, you can have Wind II Limited XLE that include everything, Wind II XLE, Wind II LE, Wind II CE, Wind II Base ... depends on your needs. -
Yes, USB 3 is a must!

Now if Wind II will incorporate Gigabyte M912's swivel display and touch screen, motion (or gyro) sensor for horizontal and vertical e-book reader, plus GPS Receiver, Mobile broadband, eSATA, USB3 and HDMI, it will be perfect for me.
