So there is several threads now in SWTOR forums that game is overheating GPU´s. And i have seen this myself aswell, im getting 83c max GPU temp in this game (which isnt bad tbh in my case). Considering that im using Coolermaster U3 pad, temps are still ridiculous. In any other game (BF3, Crysis 2 etc..) 65-70c MAX.

Also performance is ridiculous, runs like 60fps most of the time, then without reason fps crawles to like 10 for 5 seconds and then back to normal (Good example when you are watching to ground, then suddenly fps gets hammered :D). Should not be related to temps in my case (CPU under 80c all times, GPU maximum 83c, THRM below 80c etc..). Dont wanna even know what the temps would be without Coolermaster U3 :D

    Using MSI GT683R, i7-2630QM, 8GB DDR3, GTX 560M 1.5GB 192bit.

You guys have watched temperatures while playing? Post here some temps :).

Thanks for the warning. I played for 6 hours yesterday, never saw any issues as of yet.
What GPU is most people using?

It's probably because it's using 100% of your GPU. Dead Island makes my GPU peak at 80*C as well whereas any other game barely manages 65*C, this is after overclocking mind you.

There is many games which loads my GPU to 100% (99% to be exact) and they heat up the GPU nowhere near high as SWTOR. Its like 10c hotter than in other games, and its been really issue with many gamers in SWTOR forums.

is this something specific to MSI laptops, or all over the place?

Im about to buy a MSI and swtor will be one of my first installs.

Has nothing to do with MSI laptops. Game heats up even desktop GPU´s to unrealistic levels.
