My most used keys (WSAD) are losing the black color on in, which is very visible esp. when the backlight shines through :(

This is a pic from another forum but it looks the same (E-letter not visible anymore):

    What can I do?
I tried to paint it with a black waterresistant Edding pen but after 2 days the color went off .....

Is there any easy trick how to paint it black, do I need nail lacquer or something like that?

    Thx -5754

It's normal, your fingerprint and skin oil will eat the plastic and coating.

There is nothing that can stop wear and tear except maybe a kb protector.

Here's a link for keyboard protectors you could use, and it looks like they're less that $10.00.

If things get too bad, you can always order or find where to buy a replacement keyboard. It's a quick and easy way to keep your laptop looking like new. I remember with my first GX660R I had replacements for the whole carcass, keyboard etc, so when I sold it, it looked like new :)

My Blade has the same on one of my keys, i think left Ctrl. It's been nearly 3 years and it's just a small spot so I wasn't too concerned.

Might be able to find replacement key caps as well. As far as I know, most steel series keyboards should have removable key caps. MSI might have replacement keys if you contact them. I had to replace some keys on my GE70 just recently. Just be careful if you do that, as you could break the keyboard itself and need to replace it all at that point.

MSI RMA doesn't provide key caps and they usually tell customers to send the whole system for keyboard replacement, plus they will charge you since it's OOW.
Best to look for spare parts on eBay instead, get the part number and search for it.
