will a Intel Wifi Link 5300 Half-Height Mini PCI Card work in my new 1727?
-
yes, unless its broken, defective, imaginary or from another demention.
-
Big OEMs like HP and Dell have been known to lock the firmware on their wifi cards to work on only their motherboards so you may want to take that into consideration.
EDIT: I think I was wrong about this when it comes to an MSI motherboard, but HP for example has used whitelists on their laptop BIOS that prevented them from booting without an approved HP wifi card. Doesn't really apply to you though. -
It'll work, if it doesn't I'll let you have Kosti's GX640.

Deal!
.....

lol! That explains some of the weird reviews I saw on Amazon and Newegg. People with certain Dell and HP lappies were claiming they couldn't even boot with it installed.

I just installed Intel Ultimate-N 6300 in my 1727 today. Everything works perfectly.

Damn, now I see there's a 6300!
They claim 'up to 40% better reciever throughput' -
BTW, Marecki, much props to Choy Lee Fut!
