    Hello everyone,
Nice to come back here, this time asking for help.

I'm looking for upgrading my Clevo P150HM (15.6 with 2720 and 580M) to a new machine.
Not that I had the necessity but my brother is demanding for a laptop and I can give it to him.

Now, here in Italy there's only one Clevo reseller (Santech) and I can get here a p170em (so 17.3 this time) with nasty (but very well cared) 7970M 2gb, 3820qm, 250 gb msata and 1tb hdd for 750€

    OR

I can get from USA a nearly one year old gt60 dominator with 4810 and 970M, 1 tb hdd for 950$ + shipping (maybe 65usd usps) and probably customs tax (wich depend on how much would be declared, I was thinking at a 500$ value).

Now I'm torn and I ask you guys for council.
I really loved Clevos for so many years for their reliability and sober style (less for their upgradeability, as my hm model being stucked with Nvidia 675m maximum and my old m570ru stucked with dual cores and 9800M gt not gtx)
But I've always looked at msi with respectful eyes, since they were the most upgradable (accepting every mxm actual card) and more software featured. I don't like the one fan thermal assembly though (they did it to make space for another hdd slot right? Why msata was not sufficient?) plus I would be scared of loosing the packet or get it damaged but it is a beast of a machine.

    What should I do?
Also, would the gt60 be upgradable with Nvidia pascal mxm?
Is there any guy here modding bios to accept other cards (like prema do with Clevos)?

Thank you to everyone who have read this and answered sincerely :)

Ok so your in luck about the GT60 I know a lot about them. I had a GT60 with an 880m in it that I upgraded to a 980m. I had to mod my heatsink to make the 980m fit but since you can get one that comes with a 970m, then you won't need to mod the heatsink to upgrade the card. I'm basing this off of the fact that the GT72 is guaranteed to upgrade from the 980m to 1080m so I'm assuming they must have the same shape to be compatible. I also know I could have flashed a modded vbios, (like Prema) but I chose to instead just use modded drivers, which was easy. Overall the performance will be way better with that 970m than that old 7970m.
