I have the GL62M 7RDX, and the biggest downside of this laptop is the screen (too much color shifting) and speakers (my phone is louder than this)

I would like to change the panel to a higher quality TN panel with fast response rate and better viewing angle, and would like to upgrade speakers and add a sub woofer.

    QUESTIONS:

-What do I need to know about changing the TN panel before ordering one?
-I know it's possible to change the panel, but is the same could be said for speakers?
-(Optional) Can I install RGB lights in the keyboard? Mine have a red-only one (and I don't like it).
-What MSI warranty would say about changing all of these parts?

I'm calling the lord of the displays to help.

In terms of speakers, there are way more values for a better sound. Speakers are only a little part. Simplying switching for another speakers won't increase quality.

Adding RGB to the keyboard is not possible without swapping out the whole keyboard assembly but since that's probably riveted in the palm-rest, you'd be in for a LOT of work and the chances of failure are high. Replacing the deck may actually be easier.

Please run MonInfo and copy/paste the ' Raw data' section and we'll check which panels are compatible with this system and cable.

Better viewing angle is doable, but a faster response time is difficult; this TN is already at the top end of the range. You could consider a 120Hz instead of a 60Hz if fast-paced gaming is important.

Here's a list of possible options:
    • N156HGA-EAL TN. 60
    • B156HAN04.2 IPS 120
    • B156HAN04.5 IPS 120
    • B156HTN05.1 TN. 120
    • G156HTN01.0 TN. 60
    • N156HCE-GA2 IPS 120
The EAL is your current panel, the other five models are drop-ins and all of them are anti-glare, same as the EAL. Could only find a review of the B156HAN04.2 and this compares positively versus the N156HGA-EAL, except for a little less extensive gamut, so this would be a safe choice. Downside is that it's a 'slow' IPS, so ghosting is probable.

On paper the B156HTN05.1, a 120Hz TN, looks great; fast response, guaranteed high fps and better viewing angles than the EAL. Next, the N156HCE-GA2 is similar to the 04.2 in every way, but it should have much less ghosting. Unfortunately, neither of these two seem to have been reviewed/measured, so they're a bit of a gamble; manufacturer specifications on gamut and brightness are next-to-useless since they're only meant as crude indicators for the laptop builders (and also dependent on the quality of the lcd's power-supply from the laptop itself). Could try searching the net or these forums if anyone has some hands-on experience with these panels.

Mind the caveat when buying; sellers list ' compatible' or ' panel A for panel B', meaning that you'll probably receive a different panel from the one you thought you ordered. So buy used or inquire with the shop/seller before commiting to buy.
Prefer custom IEMs for laptops; great sound and nicely immersive. Also; won't hear the fans then, a nice bonus when dealing with DTRs.

I do not know how to thank you with just a few words.

Let me tell you what I suffer the most with the current N156HGA-EAL TN. 60. It's the yellow range of colors. Most of the time yellow degrees of high value and less saturation appear to be almost "white". This can be a problem with the college's blackboard notification of "new" messages from instruction is labeled "light yellow" and I have to tilt the display backward to gain more contrast and see if there's new notifications. This, along with low viewing angle are the main reason I decided to replace the LCD. If one of the options you have provided eliminate the EAL problems without any sacrifices, then it's the display of my choice. IPS is out of question since it's slower and I have a separate IPS panel for video editing, so I may go with G156HTN01.0 TN. 60 since 120hz is more of a luxury item than a necessity to me and the nVidia's 1050 in the laptop barely handle it, not to mention battery life is my top priority.

    Here's a panel I found on ebay:
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/15-6-LED-L...037598?hash=item3f6f3a651e:g:5esAAOSwrl5awgss

Note that the connector is EDP 30 Pins, is this good enough?
