    I'm wondering if I should be upgrading my 5 year old GT70-0ND's RAM from 16Gb(4Gb*4) to 24Gb(4Gb*2 + 8Gb*2) or 32Gb(8Gb*4).

If yes, which RAMs shall I get? & Kingston? Transcend? Or any recommendations?

I'm now thinking of (not sure if these combinations will work...) :
    Kingston DDR3 1600mhz 8Gb*4

    Kingston HyperX Impact DDR3 1600mhz 8Gb*4

    Kingston DDR3 1600mhz 8Gb*2 + 4Gb*2 from my current RAM

    Kingston HyperX Impact DDR3 1600mhz 8Gb*2 + 4Gb*2 from my current RAM

Hope you guys can give me some advices.

    Thx in advance.

    Current Spec:
    CPU: 3610QM
    RAM: 16Gb (4Gb*4 [4Gb*2 Elixir + 4Gb*2 Unknown Brand RAM] )
    VGA: nVidia GTX970m

for my opinion 2x8gb 2133 ripjaw g.skill is the best choise. if you upgrade a 4x8gb (all speed), your command time rate go to 2T

I'm not sure if that big step in MHz is accepted as GT70 0xx is a 1600 MHz model - best to stick on it. Just get identical specs. My GT70 has 2x8 GB, different makes but similar specs:

    I don't think it can support 2133mhz since it's a 5yo thing that uses DDR3 1.5v

Uh... Sry... I don't really read codes
So you'll recommend me to get the normal 8Gb RAMs? Instead of the HyperX model

Aren't all HyperX 1.35V? If you want mix with old memory you need probably like these:
    DDR3-1600 (800 MHz) 64 bit 1.5 V non-ECC
    @ 800 MHz 11-11-11-28 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) {{/ 39-208-5-12-6-6-24 (RC-RFC-RRD-WR-WTR-RTP-FAW)}}
Similar timings is the best way to warrant trouble-free function. But it's not 100% certain. The best way is to have identical branded sticks. I do have different brands but identical timings, they do work together.

No you should not upgrade, especially if you're expecting RAM to transform your system.

Are you using programs that need better RAM?
