    Could somebody point me which would be a compatible Bluray drive for the GT683DXR? I want to upgrade my DVD one.

    better check before you buy something what brand of yors dvd-rw is in laptop and buy the same bran so you can change front panell and if you want good one buy from sony not panasonic i bouht BD-5750H Great :) and very good price.

    front panel is standard size snap op. all brands have standard front plate to allow this.

    I have UJ240 in my GT663R too. Works flawlessly, no worries, just place order. However the front panel of the optical drive is quite difficult to dis-assemble. You would want to take the optical drive out and work on it separately.
