    I'm about ready to cry

So, I stripped to my underwear and took the back off my GE63 Raider. After having touched a grounded lamp (metal) for 5 seconds to discharge static.

The reason for this was to installl a 9260 wifi card. That didn't happen so the 8265 went back in (I'd elaborate further, but its not relevant to the issue).

I also swapped in the other 8gb stick of ram from my Dead Apache Pro - pair of hynix for total of 16GB, The ram that came with the GE 63 raider was kingston. The timings were different, so I paired hynix to avoid disharmony.

Repeated grabbing of aforementioned lamp throughout the process, I toucched the hinges of the case with my thumbs as well.

Lo and behold all is good. Boot up ding dong, plug in all my external stuff and....

    Windows runs.

I log in and everythings sexy - but why don't either of my two my two external monitors work?

They did this morning, I'm using one now to type this. F**K.

Several unplug/restarts later, on the verge of tears, I had a look in Device Manager. Sure enough, no 6GB 1060. Lots of swearing restarting and general feeling crap.

Restarted so many times I have lost my windows, so firing up old Tower PC and downloading Image to Redo my install.

Looked in bios, Memory fine at 16GB, all drives present but I see Unkown Driver Unkown Device where it probably should say 1060.

What now? I'm fixing to reinstall windows fine, but has the BIOS corrupted somehow ?

Aggrevated doesn't come close. Can I fix this or is it a service job ?

I didnt move or touch anything other than the wifi card and RAM. (hinges and lamp aside)

Thats what I feared. Do I have to remove all my "add-ins" or can I send it back as is ?

Remove the storage drives only as they might format them if you don’t

    Ok

    I've got a SM961 (windows) - I'll leave this in.
Toshiba M2 (originally came with it)
Seagate Firecuda 2TB (which I've filled up with rubbish anyway)

Pity, I was about to follow your "unbloated W10 install" :D. May still do that over the weekend.

    Thanks

    So

I went in the huff with it. Didn't power on all weekend. Lo and behold! I powered up this afternoon and the 1060 is detected and starts installing..... having built the machine a bit more, it would seem to be working fine.

Shall keep an eye on it. Still to install my external monitor....
