    Hi,

When my MSI 1719 (GX700 -208) is shutdown, my usb mouse retro illuminated stay supplied and the light stay on (while on another computer it switched off). So my usb ports are ON when the laptop is shutdown ... How can they shutdown with the laptop?

    Thx

(please write gently, I'm french and my english isn't super :D)

On some computers, one or all of the USB ports are wired straight into the AC. For instance on my Asus, the top left one is always powered. You either need to use another USB port or unplug the device if you want it to shut down.

It's not a problem. They're designed that way.

Then unplug it. Or buy a new one in 7 years when your first one wears out for a whopping $5.

    Are you using Vista?

If so you can change the USB port behavior in power management/advanced settings.

Go to USB settings/selective supend settings, enable/disable should shut the port down when the notebook is off...........

If you are using XP ,this may be the option You are looking for:

Device Manager -> USB Controler -> USB Root Hub->Properties->Power Management->Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

Yes I'm using Vista. Thanks Noclue4uhere but is doesn't work.

Quiz, this option is also in Vista but it has no effect on my problem. :(

I think these two options are just to turn off usb device when the computer is ON, to save energy.
