I've tried a number of External hard drives (powered and bus powered) that work on every other system but my MSI laptop. Usually what happens is that I can create folders and mount the drive, but the moment I start copying the files the drive quits responding.
I've attempted to dig up USB3 drivers but I have been coming up short. Any help?

Nevermind, apparently bitlocker didn't like this drive very much and was causing all sorts of issues. I cleaned the drive in Diskpart and life is good again.

Glad to see you worked the solution, and posted it
hopefully someone else with a similar problem might get a clue to fix it.

This isn't the first drive I have hooked up to this machine over USB3 that had the same behavior so that's what got me wondering about USB3 drivers.
