    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So if I want to keep my warranty, I can't clean out my fans, change my 2nd hard disk, or add Memory to this laptop without going to MSI Service Center!

I've decided to get clarification on how it affects the Warranty, will it void it completely?

    My support request to MSI:
Please can you clarify how it will affect warranty? (will I still have warranty for the laptop hardware? or will the entire warranty be voided?) Not being able to replace the 2nd hard drive, or memory, or clean fan vents is a significant issue. Note - I\'m copying the response to UK Forums as there is significant interest in this issue,

I'm interested in this. My girl has a gt70 and we want to add more ram. If you go to the gt60/70 forum most people have opened up their machines so I'm curious as to how they did it and preserved the warranty.

Well I just spoke to a MSI UK Sales contact, who was very helpful.

He stated (as others on this forum have), that yes you can remove the sticker.
If the sticker is removed, or damaged, if it goes back for repair under warranty, MSI will check inside to ensure you have not damaged any parts.
If there is damage to anything, that has been caused by the user, then obviously that isn't then covered by the warranty.

This seems perfectly fine and logically, its just very annoying MSI support itself won't actually tell me this, and actually contradict the information.
He would not confirm this via email, so its still not an official statement, but at least it was from somebody that works for MSI.

Because really speaking if your machine will fail on you and you go through the warranty, they can actually blame it on you instead of fixing it. So, they have you in the palm of their hands and you cannot do nothing about it... :)

They certainly do. The only way I can see of changing policy, is get the laptop RMA'd every month to have the fans cleaned. If everybody did this, they would soon change their policy, the postage and servicing would cost a fortune.

I received my laptop with already broken sticker (seller upgraded to SSD) and the screen crapped out on me once, they fixed it without issues.

The answer is No, will not void the warranty as long as you didn't break or do funny business to the internal parts, that's what they said themselves!

No person here on these forums should state information about the Warranty Sticker issue if you don't have all the information about it in all other regions and from all resellers.

If you're speaking about 1 country or reseller, you should include that in your post.

I say this because I've read on this and other forums that in countries like Russia breaking the seal does void the warranty.Other countries in that region may have the same policy.

I've also heard that J&R,a retailer in NYC,refused to take returns on MSI notebooks with broken seals.

If you have a notebook customized by a reseller it may first need to go back to the reseller before going to MSI for the repairs.

I recommend that everyone, upon receiving their new notebook with an unbroken seal, gently peel it off. Then if service is needed during the warranty period it can be reattached. It's held on by a tacky type glue.

I was hoping someone would mention this because on the MSI website it said that you can remove the sticker and it won't void your warranty but in small print at the bottom of the page it says "Applies to US customers only". Maybe its the same rule on other regional websites for MSI but it is clear that is varies from region to region.

I got another response back from MSI
I guess this would mean that officially in the UK the warranty is void if you remove the label, but that MSI may choose to provide warranty support.
