I love this laptop from MSI, and plus the fact that I got it for a really cheap price, it was almost a steal. I really had no intention of getting a new laptop this year, but since the conditions are ideal I went for it. Unfortunately, despite the promising reviews I've read, I was disappointed with the temps when I gamed on it. Particularly, with my favorite game, Rainbow Six Siege which is notorious for its high CPU usage. I decided to do something about it by repasting it with liquid metal, and undervolting the CPU and GPU.
Here are the results:
AIDA64 stock vs tweaked

I ran AIDA64 for 10 mins, and as you can see, the stock temps are freaking hot for a laptop famous for it's cooling solution. On stock, the CPU throttles up to 50% during AIDA64. The tweaked results are more analogous to it's "reputation" for good cooling, and zero throttling. The GPU improved, but not as big as the CPU since I undervolted it to 950mv and locked the clock speed at 2000MHz. On stock, the clock speeds are jumping between 1785-1835MHz and RARELY hits close to 2000MHz.
