Hello everyone, I've realised not long ago that my turbo button doesn't work anymore and I can't access the OC option in the bios like before.
I tested my cpu in 3d mark with the turbo button off I score 7358 and when it is on it goes down to 6877.
I originally put the button to do a +20% boost but I seems like it slows down rather then boost the performance.
    I have an MSI GT725-210uk with a C2 Quad Q9000, 2GHz, 4GB RAM, 500GB, Blu-ray, ATI HD4850 512MB VGA and windows 7 home premium with 64 bits.

Also I can't seem to get a stable overdrive for my ATi either. I've just ordered the Zalman NC2000 Notebook Cooler hoping to get temps cooler.
GPu Idle temps are at 51°C.

ANd last question, should I get an SSD?

You know I had another customer who mentioned they were having issues with their laptop too, and what worked for him was removing then reinstalling the System Control Manager (SCM).

Grab the download for it here: MSI Europe ? Notebook - GT725

See if that helps out at all. Also, with your GPU idling just a tad hotter than usual, have you tried cleaning out the laptop at all to see if dust may be the main cause?

A notebook cooler is never a bad idea. :) Also, an SSD will drastically decrease loading time for Windows and programs, and it'll probably make the most noticeable difference.

Cleaning the laptop and using the zalman cooler did help, I'm currently at 46°C but was as low as 39°C this morning.

It looks like the CPU is also sorted, did the cpu test in 3D mark vantage and scored 7821 while normal and 7916 with turbo on. THere is one this I don't understand though, why is my CPU core speed and multiplier constantly changing?

Thanks a lot :) so it's just an energy conservation program.

What about the 4850m, any idea on stable overclock?
I tried the auto tune in ccc, manage to get clock at 540mhz, and memory at 890mhz. I tested it in 3D mark vantage, but the system crashed, so I lowered everything, then tried again until it was stable in 3D mark. Then I started playing Deus Ex, but after 30 min my screen froze and everything became grey, so i forced restart my computer :/
I'm not to sure what to do now, i'm on 535/875
