On some MSI laptops there are trouble ith the driver turning off the Wi-fi when u least need it. That is very annoying, so I set out to find a solution for it.

On my Laptop, LG KS-2ATNV3 (K1 model) made by MSI, there is an :

    802.11g Mini Card Wireless Adapter

The model is 6877, if u look for the driver at MSI's page, but I would not recommend it since they are so outdated that it is stoneage.

New drivers, from the chip manufacturer, can be found here:

    http://www.ralinktech.com/ralink/Home/Support/Windows.html

In devicemanager u take properties for ur wireless card, the go to details in the top. Then u scroll down to Hardware-Id.

In my case it says : USB\VID_0DB0&PID_6877&REV_0001

Where u can see the 6877, if this is ur model too then u can use the same driver as I do. We will get to that later.

Continue to scroll down to Service.

On mine it says netr73, if that is what u have then ok go ahead and download the driver, if not then read on.
:GEEK: Make sure u make a backup of ur systeme before u install the driver!

On some systems there are an older wireless adapter netr60, sometimes the driver works and sometimes it doesn't it depends on the firmware of the card, so before u do anything make a backup of ur systeme:GEEK: .

U might want to try this driver instead : PCI/mPCI/CB(RT256x/RT266x)

This should solve that that the RF turns OFF very often, it will not cure the probleme but it will make it tolerable.

You should also set ur own power saving settings and turn off hibernation.

I hope LG/MSI will come out with an update soon, but since im the one who knows most about this I have my doubts, since they are very difficult to reach. I got the Danish IT department of LG to listen, but how far it goes i dont know.

If you have Intel then go to their page since they do more support in that area :)
