    Hi everyone,

I deeply need an MSI 3850 video bios from the MSI GT735 laptop.

    To sum up my story,
The motherboard of my alienware M9750 with Xfire 3870 is dead and warranty is expired.
I have an old Amilo Pi1556 sitting with an MXM port but the 3870 card does not boot at all (although it posts fine with the elder Amilo M3438g...)
This is why I need an MSI vbios to try it on my Pi1556...

Please help me I'm currently out of gaming laptop:cry:

Judging by the 669 clock speed, i say it's a desktop one.

I'm confused you have a 3870 but you want the 3850 vbios? Did you make sure you put the master card in and not the slave card? I believe your laptop only supports up to 25w for gpu's so I don't think it will work.

The only difference between a 3870 and 3850 is clock speed, so flashing the bios between them is no problem. It's the same story with the 9800m gs and 9800m gts. However, its pointless to flash a 3870 to a 3850 because they both consume the same power (55w). You could just easily mod your own bios and lower the clocks.

    I find it weird that a 3870 works in that ancient Amilo M3438g. Pentium M + 3870 = :p

    Hi,

What's terribly odd is that the 3870 works fine with the Amilo m3438g and even with the m1437g but completely refuses to post with the Pi1556...
I tried to mod the video bios already, I even tried Alienware m5550 system bios on my Pi1556 but nothing has worked so far.

I need the MSI bios because it's structure is different from the alienware/arima video bios of the 3870 (it's no the same checksum), and it might work with my Pi1556!
So I think it's worth giving a shot.
