    @JackBurton

Try doing a clean reinstall of the latest nvidia laptop driver 353.06 but first, use DDU found in guru3d to clean up your gpu driver residues, it will prompt you to boot it in safe mode, then do so.

Or if that didnt work, try doing a clean reinstall also of your intel gpu driver then install the nvidia, use DDU also with intel cleaning, read some other probs that theres a problem with optimus isnt working with intel and nvidia installation sequential.

Try checking your gta v or evil within in nvidia control panel if they are set with nvidia gpu.

or if they are set, try checking your power plan, change it to balanced or high performance.

If those doesnt work idk what to suggest, maybe try doing a clean reformat of your OS? xD

Congrats 390berg, I'm sure you will be just as happy with the GE60 as I am. I didn't buy mine for gaming either but for encoding HD video. I see the new ones like your comes with Nahimic sound instead of Sound Blaster Cinema. I wanted to see if it was any better than SB Cinema so I uninstalled SB and installed Nahimic sound and although it was running it refused to open the application. Un & reinstall didn't help. I don't know why it was like that and I wonder if anyone else could get Nahimic to run right on a 2014 GE60?

Nahimic is only available for NBs with 9xxM GPU.

I just recently took advantage of a memory sale and upgraded to 16gb c9 ddr3-1600 on my apache pro. Probably overkill, but works fine. Also have a 480gb msata ssd in there- the crucial m500.

Any information about Win10 on the ge60 860m models? I currently have 8.1 and it works fine.

Not yet, the drivers may take awhile before they become available, it's also possible that the drivers may not be released at all. But this is all depending on the availability of MSI's resources.

With an unlocked bios you can O/C memory. If you also unlock the vbios you can O/C the Nvidia higher than MSI Afterburner can since it has a 135mhz limit.

Yes it's the gpu settings access that can really improve gaming FPS if that's what you are after.

Oh no, this is possibly a cable issue, or the driver board.
Contact MSI service & support directly to get this resolved through warranty service.

Have you tried entering the bios? Is the pink still in that? Does gently tapping the screen or changing its angle impact the image at all?

Try connect to a external monitor or a TV with HDMI see of both screen does the same thing. if it's only the laptop screen then most likely you need to send it in for service to replace the screen.

If both laptop screen and external monitor does the exact same thing then it could be the GPU VRAM hardware problem that the MB needs to be replace.

Well done, so you have confirmed that the root cause is the internal screen.
Please proceed to contact MSI service & support for warranty service and they will take care of you.
Sorry that you have to go through this trouble.

    Hello!
I have Apache Pro GE60 2PF (about 10 month ago).
I saw many pages of the forum and I decided to register here to share my experience and learn more from other.
    I apologize for my English.

    Setup:
    • Intel 4810MQ
    • 16gb RAM
    • GTX860M
    • 2 slots MSata 128 GB installed RAID0
    • 1Tb HD 7200rpm
    • Win 8.1 x64
    Additional:
    • Cooling pad: Cooler Master Notepal U3+
    • repasted CPU and GPU with Gelid GC-Extreme
    • updated the latest BIOS, firmware, drivers.
Before repasted temp of CPU was 95-98 C
Now the CPU heats up to 93 degrees (peak load).
Cooling pad reduces the temperature of CPU not much about 2 C, the thermal paste - about 4-5C.

The main problem is cooling the CPU, because the GPU temperature is normal.

Reading the forums, decided to reduce the voltage of the CPU, because basically (except for stress tests) are not required to load the CPU at 100%.

Install the program Intel extreme tuning utility (iXTU).
Through experimentation exhibited the following parameters:
    - Dynamic CPU Voltage Offset: -80,
    - Processor Cache Voltage Offset: -80,
    - Processor Graphics Voltage Offset: -50,
    - Processor Cache Ratio: 32x,
    - Active Core(s): 36/35/32/32.

As a result, the temperature of CPU in the stress tests (iXTU and prime95) does not exceed 90C (peak load) and an average reduction of about 4-5C.
I think this is a good indicator as validation benchmark in the program iXTU showed no drop in performance.

However, my experiments do not finish. Now think how to improve the cooling of the CPU, not to make lower voltage.

I went ahead and upgraded this model (see my sig) to win 10 over the weekend. So far I have not noticed any issues, but I don't do much with this laptop as I have a work laptop as well. If anybody has win 10 horror stories, let me know so I can see if I can replicate them or look out for them.
