wow, kind of incredible, I got two intel 320 of 160gb each in my raid and I only have, 430read/320 write, your raid must be super fast, how much time does it take to boot the machine?

Well the bios screen takes longer than the windows boot... It goes in before the windows logo comes together.

Yes, I have a 5870 (on the way) and GX660 heatsink.

I am moving over as I will be able to properly tweak the 5870 (it's also an exellent sample reaching 5770 desktop clocks at stock voltage).

Most HD5870m can achieve insane core clocks, while memory is the selective one haha. Mine can only get as high as 1093 stable, with a matching core of 875mhz. I can lower memory to 1070 and reach 900 core. more than that and some games do become unstable.

the most important thing is to get over 1100 memory to enjoy high resolutions, because the gpu is quite fast on its own!

I am going to put two Crucial M4 128GBs in raid 0 in a month. What are you experiences so far? I hate having a boot time of like 1:10 mins haha. I want good speed now!

That is crazy fast! Have you noticed any reliability issues with the SSDs at all? I seem to remember an issue with TRIM and SSDs in RAID...

I don't believe trim commands are passed on, however the drives do support background garbage collection and my data usage patterns are not heavy or particularly random, so not for everyone but fine for me.

No stuttering at all, just a silly quick time to boot and once the installation had finished with the disc it went so quickly lol.

The 5870M I have purchased has reached 900/1300 for benchmarking with a 0.05v rise in core voltage so I should be set.

Heat issues(you need to mod back panel to get proper ventilation) and price I think... :)

    Price, modding, time, looks.

It would cost me twice as much to move to the 6970, I want to be able to tweak it just the way I want and the 5870 will give me that.
