I just tried it with the "MS-1651_BKM431.zip" posted by TRF-Inferno on 03-01-2009, 11:43 PM http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=357448 and it's working great.

Tested my laptop for an hour or so: The touch buttons (stop, play, bluetooth, wireless antenna, etc.) are still working. The touch pad and left/right buttons are also working fine.

Here are screenshots with full instructions for removing and re-attaching the keys. I did this on my MSI MS-1651 (GX620).

    Nice job, rxdrdwzr.
Sorry if this question reapears, but is there a such swap for MS-1722 ID2. I read here that somebody tried such swap, but with ID1, and there were a lot of troubles. So if there is, please link it to me.
I also read that there is modded firmware for ID2, but it's not working - it messes up something with touch buttons on the panel.

use this guide to create a bootable usb

copy the files from the modded ec firmware you have onto the usb stick then boot from the usb stick and execute the bat file :)

Can I install this firmware 'on top' of the firmware I used to enable the turbo button? Or are they exclusive?

    P.S. I am running a Force 3551 (MS-1651). ;)

You just install this firmware, It will erase the old firmware and write the new. I did it to my GX720. The directions that nacr05 provided are very helpful.

Yes, but will this make the Turbo mode unusable? That is my concern. Or does this have the turbo mode unlocker included and covers both?

Sorry for bumping an old thread, I just did the swap for the fn and ctrl key today (physically and firmware). It works but I have 2 little problems after the mod. The wireless sensor button has no effect now, it can't turn the wireless off. The "Turbo Battery" ECO mode no longer turns off Aero. Has anyone experienced this? I used the firmware linked on the first page.

Sorry for bumping up an old thread too, but is there any way to go about swapping the Fn and Ctrl keys for a GX640? I've searched and searched for answers to no avail.
