Hi. Here is what I would like to get:
    Super Talent MS-1013 - http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=NB-13-DVB
    Hitachi 80GB 7200rpm - http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=DMH0A25023
    AMD Turion 64 Mobile MT-37 - http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=TMSMT37
    STT D333 SODIMM 1G/64X8 Notebook Memory - http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=D333SB1G

It all comes out to $1,186.16+shipping=$1257.16

The only thing I’m missing is Built-in 802.11b/g WLAN + Bluetooth card, I cannot find one to ship to Canada…

Does any one know where can I get it? I found couple on eWiz, but they don’t have a Bluetooth… (I’m not sure if they will work with 1013)
    http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=INT-2915R
    http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=INT-2200

I was also wondering if the parts that I chose would work with that MSI barebone.

This is the only option I found to buy this notebook, other ways I couldn’t customize them, or I couldn’t ship them to Canada.

If you know other or better ways to get this laptop, please tell me.

    Thanks.

I hate to sound negative, but I just built a 1013 and I an going to send it back because of some issues of it freezing and I didn't like the keyboard. You may be fine using ddr333 memory and the mt-37. I was using ddr400 and the mt-40.

It lacks proper sensitivity (dunno what else to call it? bus frequency??). I can type very fast on some letters, and they dont register. For example, I hit Ctrl + T to open a new tab, then I type in "www.myaddress.com" it will miss one of the w's and have "ww.myaddress.com"

I did some more investigating in this and I nailed it down. If you put all of your fingers on the home keys and press all at once:
My 1013 only picked up 3-4 of them at the most.

Apparently some other people are having this issue, but I dont think they have nailed it down to a simple test as I have. I tried my 5 year old dell work notebook and it passes this.

If you have a pcclub near you, this 1013 model is their ENP413 system. Also the 2100 series averatec is a 1013 underneath.

Dont get me wrong, this was supposed to be my dream laptop. 64 bit, high quality integrated graphics, great hard drive, good ram, small high res screen, bluetooth (this didn't work either, there's a supposed recall on the old cards and I guess I got an old one) and light - all for less than $1300 (usd) including shipping and taxes.

I've used a 1013 personally for over a year, self-built, MT40 and 1gb 333mhz ram with no problems. you DO have to get used to the keyboard, it can be a bit soft, but i can type over 90wpm on it without missing much.

There have been some reported problems with heat on the higher-end systems (mt40), and with DDR400 RAM (officially only 333 is supported).

Can you do me a favor and press all the home keys at once and tell me if they register? Can you also try it in dos. I wish I tried it in dos to make sure it wasn't a windows driver issue.

nope, they don't all register in DOS. you get about the same response in Word, too. I'm not sure this really means anything to me, because even at full typing speed they all register, but pressing multiple keys at once doesn't register them all. But if it means something to you, that's the answer.

    Thanks.

I can't find any other laptop close to the specs and price of this one. It may be worth it for me to just live with the keyboard issue - considering this is not my primary computer in my case. MSI is sending me a beta bios for the freeze issue where I can force my ram down to ddr333.

Well, I’m not a fast typer, and I don’t really need to press many keys at the same time… so I think I’ll be fine.
    Thanks.
