I know this is a personal preference thing, but I'am ready to buy a whitebook 1761, i2670, GTX570m 1.5 GB, 12GB ram, SteelSeries keyboard.
I never had a Glossy screen on a laptop before, but this being 1920 X 1080, and used for gaming & a desktop replacement, I'am thinking Glossy. It seams like the colors 'pop' better with a glossy LCD, but for always seeing listings for sale, wether it is E-Bay, Amazon, etc., I haven't seen many being sold with the glossy option unless you buy a custom build.
I just asking for a little input on what you like better & why before I make my final decision.

You don't see many being sold with Glossy display's because they come stock with Matte displays. Glossy displays in my opinion are better for gaming and movies due to better blacks and more accurate colors. If you contend with sunlight/florescent lighting a lot, I would recommend Matte type displays.
By the way, with a Glossy display, you can make the colors "POP" if you want but if it's calibrated correctly, the colors will not pop. -

Hello Craigalan-
The 16:9 "Glare Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright LED Glossy Screen w/ 72% NTSC Color Gamut is a very popular screen indeed. I do however prefer the Glossy Screen w/ 90% NTSC Color Gamut though. But, with that said, being a graphic designer and using color correction a lot, I find that the 70% color gamut screen is stellar. I generally do not work outside and I work under somewhat brighter florescent lights and I find the glossy/glare to be fine. There is a slight reflection, but it does not bother and I would rather have the better "pop" that occurs on these screens. There is a slight "dim" to the matte style in my opinion. But, for some the reflection-free screen is huge deal. To me, not to so much.
Hope that helps.
Cheers
Stock Matte type anti-glare OR 72% NTSC color Gamut Glossy?
