Hey guys, just got my GT72VR 6RE. Works fine in Windows.
But there is a crazy screen tearing at startup MSI logo (then it flicks and stabilizes) - and all the time while in BIOS. (see pictures).
Is this a faulty laptop? Did you encounter anything like that before? Is this some sort of issue which maybe was addressed by firmware updates for G-sync laptops? Or should I send it back immediately? Any input will be much appreciated

Yes, even before the vBIOS update - games, firestrike all ran normal.
BUT - if you would delete NVIDIA drivers, the tearing shows up in Windows as well.
After vBIOS flash - all seem to be ok. Games, firestrike (13600 - not sure if it is alright), BIOS menus and logo at the start up... Fingers cross - it'll stay like that -

That is a scary thought, indeed.
I just took one from there - https://www.msi.com/Laptop/support/GT72VR-6RE-Dominator-Pro.html#down-firmware
It says "for G-sync". I have no idea what that means - but maybe screen tearing happens when something is out of sync. Even G...
PS. G-sync seem to be a Nvidia thing, indeed developed to minimize screen tearing, etc.
Which does not explain how installing that vBIOS helped eliminate that problem, while in BIOS (where nvidia drivers are not loaded).
Maybe calling that issue a screan tearing is incorrect also, if you look on pictures, it was pretty systemic (e.g. with equal intervals). As if something was indeed out of sync.
It is strange i can not find anything online on that issue
PPS (keep running the various tests the whole day, seem to be working alright for now, with good temps-loads-FPS in games)
