After some updates SCM has stopped working entirely, with "SCM.exe has stopped working" coming up after every reboot. Any ideas why?

SCM depends on a number of programs including Microsoft dot net. If it broke during an update, it is best to download the latest version for your laptop, and then uninstall the current one completely, reboot, install newest one, reboot, and test it. It might take more reboots/reinstall sometimes.

Also if you have a program called Dragon Center, it requires SCM so it is most likely broken as well.

I tried intalling .Net but it said I already had the latest version, I will try to re install it. Yes I have the Dragon Gaming Center as well, but that has been working fine.

It's odd that dragon center is working but SCM isn't. It can be a bit frustrating but definitely try installing and reinstalling a couple of times. Every time I had to update the SCM, I had to do that haha.

I already tried that, no change :( Also just tried SCM in safe mode and it worked, still not sure what's causing it to not work

What windows version are you running? If it's working in safe mode, maybe another software is causing issues. Have you installed something recently?

It was something called Chameleon Window Manager, not sure why they had a problem
