i945GM is the chipset, the video card is the intel GMA950--which is integrated into the motherboard.

but the 950 is supposed to be able to do Glass in Vista, I cant find anything on my notebook saying it has a 950 and Vista doesn't do glass.

Your notebook does have the 950 but will not run Aero, there are different versions of the 950 and the amount of memory they are capable of sharing. This model does not meet the minimun requirements for Aero to function.

I cant find any reference to different versions ot the 950. The amount or ram that can be shared should only be limited to the BIOS, which would it turn make it MSI limiting the video card.

Well according to the Intel drivers on my machine I should be able to share 128MB ram to the video card, MSI is only allowing 8MB.
According to Intel the 950 on the 945GM chipset IS Aero compatable.
So MSI is screwing the machines over.

yeah, but the BIOS dont let you change it from 8mb. If i could set it @ 128 Glass should work as it is a DirectX 9 video card.

Is there an option in the graphics software to change the amount of shared memory? Some do and some don't. I do not have a built one in front of me now so i am not sure on this model.

I cant find anything to allow a change in either the software(intel's graphics panel) or the BIOS.

What I dont understand is why the BIOS is set @ 8MB and the Video cards information says that the Minimum is 8MB but 10MB is being used. Yet I can not find any way to set it.
