So does my Quadro k5000m. :p

I think this is probably a customization by the system builder? They probably feel its safe enough to put the card from the gx60 in the gt60.

The GX60 isnt released in china yet.... plus the photo is taken on 30th september, it might be a fake but don't know where they get the working vbios from as paulow didn't make it on a barebones 1762, but yea would love to see a test results of the msi 7970m from gx60 in the 1762/ 16F2 just wondering is enduro/optimus written in the bios, driver or it is a hardware design?

Enduro/Optimus is off by hardware design in the 16F2 or older models (than gt60/70).

The 7970M works perfectly in the 16F2 until you try and overclock it and then it shuts down the system lol.

You might get away with it in the GT685 which came with the 580M by default and has some power tweaks on the motherboard.

Meaker, you are aware that pau put a 7970m in his 16F2 and was able to oc.
As for me with my 780dxr ( msi 16F1 ), uv @0.95 and oc @910/1390 is perfectly stable.

Yes, and when he tried to push it, it shut down.

Considering every notebook with a 7970M as a stock option can reach over 1000mhz core speeds (with more or less effort), reaching 910mhz at 0.95V is hardly an achievement.

Not trying to speak about achievement or who has the biggest, i was just replying about your "7970M works perfectly in the 16F2 until you try and overclock it".

Yes i am right, then you undervolted it, only then did overclocking work. I did not rule that out in my post and if i had to surround every post i made with every additional step you also could take, i would be here all day.

This is good news in a way. I think it means these laptops now have overcurrent protection for the internal voltage circuitry. For example I have had no problems with my GX640 shutting off and its already 25 watts over what it was designed for.

Someone managed to hook up ivy bridge CPU to an AMD Northbridge and motherboard socket too?

This is exactly my question, msi vbios with an ivy bridge processor and capped from a chinese forum claiming that the machine is a GT60 (no wonder why I can read chinese, I'm asian), as pau have tested 7970m on msi-1762 mid august-ish and it didn't work. Now that this screenshot has been taken is the bios adjusted or just the msi vbios that makes the GT60 capable of running with enduro 7970m, after the software modification.
