Has anyone here done this? I want to install either the AUO B173HW01 v.4 or v.5 (Can't decide between the glossy vs matte, I mostly game with the laptop), since the stock screens have an unpleasant graininess to them.

I want to install the screen myself, but I've found zero guides for the gt60/gt70 models. The procedure looks very similar for all laptops in general, but it would still be nice to know what I'm getting into before I start prying the screen apart.

So, does anyone have experience replacing the screen for the gt60/70 models? Any guidance is much appreciated, as always :D

in the gx660(R) lounge i saw someone changed his screen, also with uploaded photos. Maybe there will be no difference for doing this in your model. Experts will answer to you. But you can take a look.. i think its in page 134

I can't see any screws on the frame, just narrow rubber stubs that stick out slightly (I think they protect the screen when the laptop is closed?)

It seems like there might be a screw at the bottom left and right of the laptop, but they're covered by rubber.
