My GT70's dvd drive has stopped reading after 1 years use. I got an RMA from MSI but the cost of shipping is equal to the cost of a replacement drive. I'm just going to replace it myself but had a question about the face plate. Are face place universal and will they fit any dvd drive that i buy? Thanks for any help.

The bay dimensions are generally standardized, so fitting a new one shouldn't be arduous. The bezels are not as standardized, but we often swap the optical drive out on the GT units we sell and don't have any problems.

Thanks for the reply. Is there a specific brand/model you would recommend?

Not really, as everyone has their preference. :)
