The pin in the laptop's ac adapter input broke, somehow, which really kinda blows. And it's not covered by MSI's warranty. I think I can soder it back on myself, if I could only get to it...so how would I go about getting to it? And would it be possible to do so without breaking the warranty sticker?
I'd like to somehow avoid paying the $100+ repair for this tiny little issue, but I don't want to void the warranty for future issues. Thanks.

No way you can fix this without opening the unit.

did the tip actually fall into the case? or is it just stuck in the hole. maybe im confused

Upon further inspection I've noticed the entire apparatus-the pin, and whatever it's connected to-has come unstuck from the motherboard. At least it appears this is the case, looking in from the back. It's certainly more than just the pin that came off. Regardless, it's clearly a fault of manufacture. I hope i can somehow get the warranty to cover it, otherwise, ugh. I've only had it for ten days too.

Things like that are usually not the manufactures fault I have unsoldered at least 8 laptop DC jacks for replacements.
What usually hear from people is that either have the power cable pulling the sides of the jack or they had some one trip over the cable or they dropped the laptop by accident.
But yeah you have to open the laptop and pull the motherboard out to fix that problem.
Good Luck.
