Well, I'm not sure where to post this, but I am going to post it here. Maybe people will read it and maybe they won't.

I ordered a laptop from RawPowerPC last spring. It has been nothing but great from the time I got it. I took it to Iraq with me and had zero problems. I got back in the fall. I wanted a new laptop. I guess I was sort of out of the loop on things, and didn't research the new stuff, but I ordered a 1039 from RawPowerPC. At this time, in early November, the site was still up. Since I had had a good experience with the place previously I had no qualms about ordering another computer. I paid for the computer and never received any product. It has been 3 months now. The website is gone, the phone is disconnected and this "unleaded" character who supposedly was RawPowerPC has disappeared from the forums and the virtual world.

So I am out over a grand. It would be really nice to get my money back. I will be much more careful about ordering a computer over the internet in future.

that sucks.....it's kinda weird that these msi dealers have been doing this.....xmeld disappeared for awhile and then reappeared after a few months. if you used a credit card, i would talk to your cc company about recouping your money. i suppose this is what happens when online resellers close up. =/

Dude, that sucks. I feel sorry for you. But see, everyone's running a risk when they buy stuff online. I mean, what if, for example, newegg closed up? I know it sounds stupid, but what if they just disappeared? Sometimes picking a laptop up in person is just a better idea - walk into the store and do the thing. And I hope the invoice that they give you (if they did) comes in handy in getting your money back.

    All the best!

You must be exceedingly patient if you managed to wait three months without receiving a product before getting upset. I would have been all over that company if I hadn't received anything within two weeks. Good luck getting your money back.

I didn't wait 3 months to CHECK on it. I waited three months to POST on it. The website has been down for a long time. Trust me I am working on getting my money back. I just didn't think to post about it. I wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience, and also call the jerk out. Geez.

I ordered my comp from them and got it last july. Too bad I've had a piss poor experience with the shell being garbage and the hinges breaking me. Contacting them to get it fixed was impossible. Basically I have $1500 dollars of hardware and I'm on my own if it breaks. Pathetic really. I should have just paid out the ass for a dell or something rather then trying to get the best deal from a shady company.

no need to double post as there is an MSI section for MSI questions. what the other mod meant was that you should post it in this thread
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=99733

where some one else also expressed disappointment with that same reseller.
