Hello, my name's Lucas and I'm having a very irritating problem with my laptop. It's a GT783R and I bought it back in April of this year.

I'm writing this post from my laptop only because I'm in safe mode. If I try to start the laptop normally, it will eventually randomly shut down and start up by itself. The reboot happens immediately with no warning whatsoever or any sort of error report that I know of.

A few months back, this would only happen while playing a video game. It now happens at random while browsing the web, playing a movie, or even just as I am logging into the computer. I am no longer able to play games at all which happens to be the main reason I even bought this thing.

As I said before, I am able to use the laptop while in safe mode. I'm no expert but this leads me to believe that it's a problem with the video driver/card. My video card is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX580M. What can I do to figure out what exactly is wrong and hopefully how to fix it?

Do you still have an original backup partition accessed by pressing F3 on startup to restore back to factory setup?

The next suggestion is a clean Windows 7 installation with all the newest drivers, software and utilities.

BTW,why didn't you post this in the GT780/GT783 Owners Lounge instead of starting a new thread?
