I brought my laptop to the local service center and they said that they were going to send it in for a motherboard replacement. So I'm wondering what's MSi's usual policy with parts replacement since the GE620dx is already out of production?

MSI keeps what is called a "RMA Buffer" for notebook models that are still in warranty. This will insure the part is available to repair your notebook within the warranty period.

So I'll get the same spec as I did when I bought it?

Your notebook should return to you with the same specs as you purchased it with. Nothing should change.
