Purchased an MSI GF63 Slim to edit 1080p video and play games like Pinball FX3. Nice looking computer, nice display and keyboard, plenty of power to do what I needed. Initial doubts about durability and heat due to the plastic construction and compact size.
Unfortunately, had problems out of the box. Nahimic didn't work, downloading drivers via MSI Driver Center killed the sound. Updating drivers as per MSI support killed the system. Factory reset. Testing CPU and cooling by rendering 1080 video with Handbrake caused overheating and thermal shutdown. As per MSI support, updated Dragon Center 2, which controls the CPU fan, which caused the computer to lose Windows lock pin number. Factory reset and try again or RMA two week old computer?
After a lot of wasted time and the MSI support experience made it an easy choice to return for refund. If you get a good one, it might be a decent computer, I didn't get one of the good ones. Kind of disappointed with MSI, guess my expectations were too high.
