    Hi first post =)

This is a questions to the resellers here. I've been watching closely this laptop and thinking about buying it, but the thing is that in one video I saw a sticker preventing you from opening the laptop, so my question is if I buy one can I open it to add a SSD and maybe some ram without voiding the warranty?

I read in one of the threads (GT60 w680M owners I think) that XoticPC has stated it is there to warn people about being dumb rather than not letting them inside. The ram, hard drives, and optical are supposed to be user serviceable in theory. The XoticPC rep also noted that if you install/replace extra components, you are doing so at your own risk and if they see things inserted they may rule that is the cause. I haven't heard an official word from MSI though.

Again, If you purchase from a reputable seller, ex: GentechPC, Powernotebooks.. etc, you shouldn't void your warranty by removing the sticker. Hell, I didn't even get mine with a sticker (Ken did some upgrades :D)

I wonder if that holds true for a retail version such as one purchased through Best Buy or Amazon?

Thanks for the answers. Now that is the question, if I replace components then my warranty will be with whom? because if I open it and just add the SSD, and have a warranty claim which will be valid? reseller's or MSI's, and also take into consideration that right now I'm not living in the US, so is not so easy to ship the laptop back to reseller for warranty repairs, but MSI has regional service center here in Mexico (which is classified as North America).
