First, I have considered buying a daughter board which will allow me to run Super Raid 2 on my GT70 laptop. However, after doing some research I have learned that Intel CPU's have a 2 port limit for sata 3 hard drives. http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/installing-new-ssd-to-gt70-sata3.697153/page-2

Does this mean that a computer with Super Raid 2, which has 3 msata ports, for example the GT70 2PE Dominator Pro, would not be able to run them in sata 3? And if so, isn't the Super Raid 2 enhancement kind of a set back?

    My computer - GT70 MS-1763
    CPU - Intel i7-4800
mSata - samsung evo 250 gb sata 3

One can easily operate 3 mSATA SSDs with mSATA adapter. A friend of mine uses 3x Samsung Evo 250GB in his GT70 2oD. Have you already bought the adapter now, because I would have lying around a :)

The MS-16F3 & MS-1762 barebone can only 2 mSATA SSDs use, but since it was only a 2x mSATA are adapters that should always play a role. The 3x mSATA adapter MS-16F4 / MS1763 only.

The older chipset GT70 (2xxx and 3xxx series CPUs) only supported 2 Gen III connections (max from the chipset), 4xxx and later support up to 4.

That explains everything. I feel silly now for worrying. Thank you, both. Do you think it's a good idea to put my OS on the raided drives? I don't know how MSI normally handled that.

Sorry, iTzZent, I have not bought the adapter yet. Are you saying you have one for sale or something?

MSI pre-configured each model differently but yes they did have configured it in RAID mode.
You will need to have RAID driver on an USB flash drive and load it through USB 2.0 port during OS installation.
