I am tending to buy the latest gaming laptop GT80, but I also know DX12 will be coming in this year. So I am afraid of whether it is inappropriate at this time to buy GT80 cause GTX980M may not support DX12. hopefully I can get the answer I want in here. Thanks.

I would be surprised if the 980M didn't support DX12, as those cards just came out. But I could be wrong.

All Maxwell GPU's will support the DX12 API, and DX12 will be a Windows 10 exclusive. NVidia and AMD are somewhat DX12 hush-hush right now, due to NDA, but web info is readily available. Try using the search engines, like Google! It works!

What Geno and -=$tR|k3r=- said. :p

As long as you're a Windows 7 or 8(.1) user (and your copy of Windows is valid), you'll be able to make the transition to Windows 10 for free within a certain time frame, along with having access to DX12.
