Does anyone know if a quadro will work in the 683/16F2 series?

Quadro 3800m and 1800m work in the gx640

Maybe the most important thing I can say of all my experiences is that the fx 1800m clocked up just fine while the 3800m (100w) didn't.

Its not very associated with it being a quadro, I can tell you that.

I really think you should try it, that card is like the lowest power consumption 256 bit gddr5 out there, it could be an insane overclocker.

FWIW my card would not work at all in my Clevo, perhaps because I wasn't able to make the switch to DVI analog output. The 7738g had no built in LCD when I tried it and displayed over VGA. I think you've read about my experiences with other cards? Basically modern Clevos have very bad MXM support other than standard Clevo cards.

I wish I had time to install drivers and use a USB fan but with only a copper block it was getting rather hot. And yeah I sold the card which was the other reason I didn't have time.

That makes no sense, I hope you returned the card because there are MSI gtx 470m out there in asia which I'm pretty sure were released with the gt663 barebones, ms-16F1.

Speaking of asia... Assuming you bought the card in the marketplace don't feel bad (because its in china lol) but you can get gtx 570m for about 250$ USD.

Random question, have you flashed vBIOS with a DOS stick on your MSI? The gx640 and 740 are probably the only i7/MXM 3.0 laptops that don't have an EFI BIOS preventing you from flashing with DOS. I wonder how this correlates to MXM structure and compatibility...

Yeah I tried but it would not let me flash. Had to flash via windwows.

Card has gone back, went for the 570M in the end.
