We were trying to overclock a gtx 560m in a GT780 trying to get some extra performance, but then we realised that no mather what clock we set, the gpu is stuck in 775mhz max, the weird thing is that according to gpu-Z, the stock core clock is set by bios at 814mhz, so we cannot figure out what is going on. Do you have any idea of what is going on? (We were using msi afterburner to do all of this)

Have you tried different Nvidia drivers or the newest version of Afterburner?

Yeah i tried 3 diferent drivers and the newest afterburner. I can modify the memory speed but the core clock is stuck at 775

Most programs only look at the gpu boost clocks (power state p0) either enable gpu boost or use a program like nvidia inspector that can be pointed to a different power state (p1 is non gpu boost 3d clock).

It's automatic, but be sure that AC adapter is plugged in with battery fully charged to allow it to work smoothly.

Hi again, I'm testing the laptop, and I'm experiencing shutdowns in the computer as soon as the laptop gpu reaches the 80ºC mark, it happens with both games and furmark. On furnark, as soon as the gpu reach 80º it shuts down. Is there any way to raise this temperatura to lets say 90? is kinda annoying, cause it also happens while gaming high demanding games. I repaste the gpu and all, but im unable to hold the temperaturas down (all of this at stock clocks)

80C is not the critical threshold for the GPU, it may be something else on the card in trouble such as the mosfets (the black chips on the edge of the card).

What were the thermal pads looking like?

91C is the threshold for throttling so check CPU temp too.
You can't raise those limit since CPU and GPU supposedly having thermal protection to shut down the system to protect themselves, thus why it is not possible to modify these parameters.
