    I have the i7 10750h an l 2080 super max q GE66

After repasting with some bestbuy corsair xtm150 I had some crazy temp differential under load...Idle they are great but when my cpu is working I see temps skyrocket.Between the 6 cores there must be a 70c to 94c difference.
This is the first paste job i did so i looked up some stuff online then loosened the heatsink screws going down from 10-1 and got it off.
There was a bunch of white stuff spread all over the components,The gpu pins and everything were covered, same thing with the cpu so I cleaned them up as best I could..I left the white stuff alone on everything else because I wasn't sure if I had enough to cover them all or if they were even safe to cover with what I had. so I didnt risk it.After cleaning them up I spread the new stuff around the cpu and gpu die til the metal was covered enough then put another dot in the middle just to be safe..Same thing with the copper on the heatsink..I didnt cover the pins and outside of the cpu and gpu like it was before. Now could that be a problem?I thought only spots where metal contacts need paste.

Gonna try and adjust the mounting pressure some more. That looks to be the cause of the temp differential.

Never thought my first repaste would of turned into this big of a headache...I did a little adjustment last night and the situations improved..I got both the CPU and GPU sitting between 30-35c during idle/web browsing but I ran a quick ts bench and right away I seen about 3 cores shoot straight into the 90s while the other 3 cores maxed out around 69c..That just gave me the motivation to mess with it some more cause I know im close now..I'm shooting for temps around low 70's as my end game..It's definitely possible with this heatsink.

Hahahaha I think I finally put it on right this time..Temps are down and i'm not seeing the uneven core temps when under load....All together I probably adjusted/repasted the heatsink about 6 times lol...I think I found The sweet spot...I was putting to much paste on at first and not paying enough attention to the cpu making sure it was evenly mounted as best as possible. It was mainly the paste though.I tried all types of spread patterns like the pea/dot,X,line,etc.This last one I spread it on evenly before re mounting and didn't put any on the copper this time but made sure I spread enough on the die that metal wont touch metal.
