Guys. I need some help. I've successfully removed the 1 TB hard drive from the laptop, but I'm having trouble removing the metal bracket piece that the hard drive fits in, because of one screw in the top-left. I'm able to unscrew all of the others with the same screwdriver, just not that one. I'm not sure if it's because of a damaged screwhead, or if I'm supposed to be using a special screwdriver for that one screw in particular. I'm clueless.

I'm wanting to upgrade the 1 TB hard drive to a 2 TB SSHD, and the fact that just one silly screw is preventing me from doing so is very frustrating to say the least. I may try the "rubber-band" method, as well use a screw extractor.

It's a brand new laptop purchased just a few days ago so I like to think that it's not a damaged screwhead, but who knows.

I'd provide pics but I'm at work and away from home pretty much every day this week, so I will need to provide at least one pic soon to give an idea of what I'm talking about. I'll do that as soon as I can.

Any help in this matter from experienced GT73VR disassemblers is hugely appreciated.

Never mind. Managed to get the bastard screw out eventually using the "elastic band" method, and giving very gentle turn movements until it gave and came out. Such a relief.

Upgraded the 1 TB hard drive to a Seagate 2 TB SSHD drive. Works nicely. I only wish that I could put a 4 or 5 TB hard drive into the machine, but the 9 mm ones wouldn't fit. Only 7mm fit, and with that size, I believe maximum storage space you can get with standard spin-point drives is 2 TB.

I guess I have only M.2 and SSD drives to turn to for whenever I need to upgrade on storage space. Expensive in comparison to standard spin-point drives.
